ZZ Soldini capsule collection: sailing clothing | Ermenegildo Zegna
I
t was the great clipper ships of the 19th century which first raced this route. Ships full of tea would race each other to be the first to port in London. Records were broken. The race is still on. Skipper Giovanni Soldini's latest adventure is an attempt to beat the world record, held since 2008 by a British crew.

Man of the crew wearing Zegna Techmerino™ sailing clothes

It’s the latest in a series of adventurous challenges Soldini has taken in partnership with sponsors Maserati and Ermenegildo Zegna, who help supply technology and clothing to the crew respectively.  To celebrate the endeavour, Ermenegildo Zegna has made a series of items from the crews uniform available to sailors and non-sailors alike. The ship will leave Hong Kong harbour in early January. The time to beat is 41 days 21 hours 26 minutes and 34 seconds.

THE COLLECTION

The dedication to new technologies is reflected in the material choice of Techmerino fabric, perfect for challenging conditions, both on land and sea. Dynamically regulating heat and breathability, quick-drying and providing superior fit and comfort, Techmerino is ideal for an active casual collection inspired by this most dynamic type of sailing.
