A USER'S GUIDE
When the temperature rises, you need to be wearing the correct suit, made from the correct fabric. Here’s how to do it
T
he 20th August. The temperature is in the 90s. You’ve an invitation to a formal event. Perhaps it’s a wedding. Two things are certain. The weather is hot. And wearing a suit is compulsory.

In these circumstances, wear the Summer Suit. Here’s our guide to the ultimate lightweight suit, and our guide on how best to wear it.

The Summer Suit from Ermenegildo Zegna. A light construction for warm days.

The Summer Suit needs to be made of a lightweight, breathable fabric, of course.

We use a superlight wool and silk blend. This makes for an incredibly light fabric: with one square metre weighing just 180g. Compare this with a regular all-year round suit, in which the lining alone may weigh up to 100g.

The blend also creates a matt appearance, ideal for when the sun is high. The colour is a cobalt blue, with a herringbone pattern. The fit is classic: a regular-cut (drop 7) blazer designed for a tailored fit.

When the temperature rises, you need to be wearing the correct suit, made from the correct fabric. The Summer Suit, from Ermenegildo Zegna
